The more than 1,000 Alumni of the AMEL Institute have already demonstrated a commitment to excellence and leadership, but in today’s rapidly evolving professional landscape, staying ahead requires continuous learning and adaptation. To further empower them on their professional journeys, AMEL launched a series of webinars aimed at enhancing their skills, expanding their networks and equipping them with the tools needed to thrive in their respective fields.
Through expert-led sessions, interactive discussions, and practical workshops, our Alumni gained valuable insights into the latest trends, tools and strategies that are essential for career advancement and impactful leadership. The webinar series consisted of monthly online sessions, each lasting 60-90 minutes. Each session featured an expert speaker who shared their expertise and practical experience and insights with our community. The sessions also featured interactive question and answer (Q&A) component, in which participants engaged directly with speakers, asking questions and sharing their perspectives. Virtual breakout rooms fostered networking and discussion among Alumni from different places, while supplementary materials, tools, and resources helped participants to apply the learnings from the sessions.
Held in the last quarter of 2024, the webinar series kicked off with a session and Q&A discussion on leadership led by AMEL President Mohamed Abubakr. The second webinar was an interactive workshop on Career Development in Navigating Growth Opportunities & Networking led by Craig Zelizer, Founder of PCDN global. The third webinar covered Activism & Peacebuilding in today’s changing geopolitics and was led by Serge Stroobants, Director of Europe & MENA at the led by the Institute for Economics & Peace. Concluding the webinar series was Soft Skills Enhancement: Effective Communication & Emotional Intelligence by Cedric Nwafor, Founder of ROOTS Africa and himself an Alumnus of AMEL Institute and the AMEL Speakers Bureau.
The webinars saw very high engagement of attendees, who numbered more than 100 from all over Africa, the Middle East and beyond. Participating Alumni became better equipped to lead, innovate and navigate challenges in their professional environments, while expanding their professional network and gaining actionable insights and tools that could be immediately applied in their careers. AMEL looks forward to offering more engagement and empowerment opportunities for its Alumni in 2025, assisted by the newly established Alumni Engagement Committees composesd of select AMEL Institute graduates from all over Africa and the Middle East.
